Welcome to the JMT ProjectWise System

As an external participant in the JMT datasource, there are a few important items to note:

  • All external participants are disabled after 90 days of inactivity; reactivation requires contacting the JMT PM for your project.
  • General access is read‑only unless otherwise specified or if working in a designated client folder.
  • JMT does not provide licensing for external ProjectWise participants. To use integrated CAD workspaces, you will need ProjectWise Design Integration (PWDI) Visas obtained via Virtuosity or by calling Bentley to establish a SELECT account.
  • JMT currently uses ProjectWise Explorer 2024.
  • Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (web access) should not be used for design work—only for markup, viewing, and task-related actions.
  • Folder structure and security are defined by client or DOT requirements.

ProjectWise Setup

In order to connect to JMT’s ProjectWise, you may need assistance from your IT department—JMT cannot modify external computers.

ProjectWise Explorer Setup

For work requiring integrated CAD applications, you must use the ProjectWise Explorer application. There are two methods to configure the JMT datasource display:

a. Using the ProjectWise Explorer Application

  1. Open Tools → Network Configuration Settings
  2. Under Datasource Listings, add:
    • Name: JMT
    • Hostname: jmt-pw.bentley.com
    • Port: 5800

b. Using Control Panel

  1. Go to All Control Panel Items → ProjectWise Network
  2. Under Datasource Listings, add:
    • Name: JMT
    • Hostname: jmt-pw.bentley.com
    • Port: 5800

After adding these settings, reopen ProjectWise Explorer; the JMT Production datasource will be available. External users can only access this datasource.

Basic ProjectWise Use

Username and Password

Access uses your Bentley IMS identity, which should be your business email address.

Logging In

If logged into the CONNECTION Client, you will not receive login prompts. Otherwise, CONNECTION Client will request login/registration. Recommended settings:

  • Run on system startup
  • Automatically sign in
  • Minimize after sign in

When accessing the JMT Production datasource, ensure the authentication method is Bentley IMS.

Working Directory

On first login, you will be prompted to create a working directory—select Yes to accept the default location.
